Launching 'The XPLORE Initiative'

"Exploration is curiosity put into action"

Commitment to Our Vision

Enshrined in MeetMentors' vision is to make mentorship opportunities available and accessible to college students, recent graduates, and talented youth in Africa.

That's exactly what we have been doing for the past three to four years.

As we grow as an organization, we seek to innovate and take up new initiatives that further enhances and intensifies our commitment to this God-given vision.

What is the Xplore Initiative?

It line with our vision, we have launched The Xplore Initiative - the newest to our mentoring programs, to foster our vision of impacting young people in Africa.

Through this initiative, MeetMentors collaborates with university departments and student groups within post-secondary institutions to offer mentoring sessions that support young people to explore career and/or academic opportunities available to them in their respective fields of studies.

During these mentoring events, MeetMentors draws from our pool of mentors (as speakers) who are in fields relevant to the departments we collaborate with.

Cost to University Student Groups

The program comes at no cost to the departments and/or students groups. MeetMentors takes care of that. The willingness of our volunteer-guest speakers also supports this.

Who Benefits from The Xplore Initiative?

MeetMentors believes that this initiative is one of the right ways of communicating the essence of mentoring to young people. It is also a great platform for young African students to connect with opportunities needed for their academic and career success. The initiative benefits young African students who desire to learn from those ahead of them, and to see their dreams come true. The initiative also promotes networking among mentors, mentees and faculty members from universities.

Our Inspiration

Denzel Washington puts it in better words:

"Show me a successful individual and I’ll show you someone who had real positive influences in his or her life. I don’t care what you do for a living—if you do it well I’m sure there was someone cheering you on or showing the way".

That's exactly what mentoring does and that's why The Xplore Initiative seeks to bring mentoring to the doorsteps of academic departments and students and youth groups across Africa.

Corporate Partnerships

In order to expand this wonderful program across Africa, MeetMentors welcomes corporate organizations that are interested in partnering with us to do this. Kindly connect with us or email management at info@meetmentors.org for further discussions.
