GEORGE SARKODIE
Founder & Team Lead

As Founder and Team Lead, George oversees the leadership, strategic direction and programming initiatives for MeetMentors. He brings his past experience into innovation and developing strong partnerships for the growth of the organization.

George is passionate about education and training, leadership development, and mentoring. He has mentored several youth and adults in Canada, Ghana, and Denmark. At the University of British Columbia, he served as a Graduate Student Mentor under the MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program (MCFSP) for African students. George has consulted for the Commonwealth of Learning, and worked for the Northern Lights College in BC, and Council for Lifelong Learning in Alberta, Canada. He is also the Executive Pastor at Victory Church on The Rock, Grande Prairie, Alberta.

 

George has BA Hons. in Sociology from the University of Ghana, MSc in  International Development from Aarhus University in Denmark and M.Ed in Adult Learning & Education from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. George is also an Associate Member of the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM), UK.

ANGELA ANIMAH-KORANG (PhD, MPH)
Communications Advisor

Angela Anima-Korang (PhD, MPH) is a Communication professional and Health Educator with a research focus on health and technology. As a researcher, her primary focus has been on using communication strategies to improve health outcomes for underserved populations, particularly for people in rural areas. As an Assistant Professor of Communication, she currently teaches primarily Mass Communication, Public Relations, Strategic Communication and Health Communication courses at both the undergraduate and graduate (masters) level.  

 

Her interdisciplinary interest has contributed to the work she does both in and out of the class. She served as the Communications Co-Chair for the American Public Health Association Student Assembly (APHA-SA), and is currently on the Editorial Review Board for the Texas Speech Communication Journal. 

 

In addition to a BSc in Computer Science, Angela holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mass Communication, a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Health Education, and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mass Communication and Media Arts. She is also certified in Health Literacy for Health Professionals.

Angela has had several opportunities to serve as a mentor to students from diverse backgrounds and programs. She served with the McNair Scholars Program at SIUC, an academic program for first-generation students with an interest in graduate education. She was the graduate and research assistant, as well as instructor, teaching and mentoring students on academic work, graduate school preparation, leadership and career development.

DANIEL HENNEH
Business Development Advisor

Daniel delights in providing services to help develop small and medium scale businesses. He has provided consultancy services for start-ups and medium sized business on marketing and business planning.
In 2009, he co-founded Libaws Pharmacy, a retail/wholesale community pharmacy in Ghana, where he served as the General Manager for 3 years. In 2016, he founded TTL Pharmacy Ltd in Ghana, which has 3 outlets as of 2018. Daniel established Temp-Help Micro-Credit Services to provide Micro-Credit to individuals and small businesses in Ghana. 


Daniel is a Certified Clinical Research Associate with the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP). He has experience working as Site Manager in several International Clinical Research Organizations. He has participated in many international conferences and training.


Daniel holds a bachelors degree in Pharmacy and an MPhil  in Organic Chemistry from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana. He also has an MBA from the University of Northern Virginia, USA.

TINA SARKODIE
Operations Advisor

Tina is social and loves to connect the missing dots! She makes sure the pieces are all put together, the ‘t’ has been crossed, and the ‘i’ has its dot!! She makes MeetMentors gets running. 


Tina translates her experience in nursing, public health education, and non-profit leadership into touching lives in this mentoring program. She brings her cross-cultural understanding of people and learning, into responding to the need of developing the next generation of leaders through mentoring.


Tina has a BSc in Public Health and Allied Sciences and Diploma in Registered General Nursing. Her specialization is in health education. She loves to talk, teach and mentor!

MICHAEL SELORM AVUMEGAH
Programs Advisor 

Selorm, loves to describe himself as a community thinker. He is passionate about the youth and has over 15 years of experience in youth mentorship and training program design across Africa, Europe and Australia.

​

Selorm is a trained Peer counsellor and educator, a training he has put to good use in Africa and elsewhere. He has deep sense and appreciation for diversity and has worked with different organisations and culturally diverse groups around the globe.


Selorm is also a molecular microbiologist with keen interest in neglected tropical diseases. He holds a Ph.D in infectious disease from Deakin University, Australia. His expertise spans bacteria and viruses. He also has experience in epidemiology and the “One Health” approach to disease surveillance.

 

Selorm brings his passion in mentoring and professional skills to support the programming initiatives at MeetMentors.

DELA DE YOUNGSTER
Technical Advisor

Dela provides technical advise on web and design elements for the online branding and marketing of MeetMentors. With design at his fingertips, he enjoys to shape the today and tomorrow needs of making MeetMentors the online mentoring organization of the moment. 


Dela has professional, technical and project management experience, ranging from advising government agencies, start-ups, and non-profits in North America and Africa. 
Dela holds BSc in Computer Science from Ghana, and MSc in Computer Science from the University of Ottawa, Canada.

DESMOND K. BOATENG
Programs & Community Coordinator 

Desmond Boateng is a final year student at the University of Ghana, majoring in Mathematics. Desmond has good interpersonal and communication skills, and is great at planning and organizing events, strategizing for publicity, and forming new connections.

​

He has interests in mentoring, mathematics, writing, digital marketing, and space explorations. He is the current Vice President of The Mathematics Society of the University of Ghana. Before that, he served as a member of the Solution Space Committee and also the Publicity Committee Head and also participated in the UG @70 Mathematics Quiz.


Desmond has interned as Portfolio Optimization Clerk at St UT Holdings, Ghana, in 2017. He is a Google Foundation of Digital Marketing Certified and Hubspot Inbound Marketing Certified.

JOSHUA EYRM WORDEY
Design Cordinator

Eyram is a computer science graduate from the University of Ghana who has a passion for design and storytelling. This passion has led him to pursue a career in public relations (PR), where he is gaining valuable experience in crafting compelling narratives. Despite his academic background in computer science, Eyram is finding fulfilment in his new career path.

When Eyram is not working on design or PR projects, he can be found immersing himself in a good book, crafting opinion pieces on random topics for his blog, or mindlessly scrolling through Twitter. He has diverse interests and enjoys exploring them in his free time.

Joshua's passion for mentorship is evident in his personal life and career. He attributes his clear purpose in life to the guidance of his mentors, and this spurs him to give back to others in the same way.

MARY-ANNE A.M. LARYEA
Programme Coordinator

Anne is in charge of managing the One-on-One mentorship Program (Connect). She supports the delivery of programs under MentorHackaton, XPLORE, EQUIP, LEAD and other initiatives.  She also assists with the promotion of MeetMentors's programs. 

​

Anne loves to spend time with younger people educating and mentoring them. She is passionate about agricultural development in Africa; especially Ghana. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Agribusiness Management and she is currently pursuing an MPhil degree in Agribusiness Management at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. 

​

Anne worked as a traceability Support Officer at Ecom Ghana, 2021-2022 (NSS) and further worked as a Field Traceability Support Officer from 2022-2023.
